Eastlakes’ week of mystery and speculation comes to a close with NSW Lotteries finally tracking down the unsuspecting winner of Monday & Wednesday Lotto’s $1 million division one prize.

An Eastlakes shopper was the only winner in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3799 on Wednesday 12 September 2018, winning the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.

When speaking with a NSW Lotteries official to confirm the win, the winner explained he had no clue he could have been the mystery millionaire.

“It's funny, we were in the paper shop last week and were told someone had won a million dollars,” he said.

“I asked if someone had come forward yet to claim the prize, and the lady said ‘no’.

“When I went in there on Monday to buy my Lotto tickets, I scanned last week’s ticket and was told ‘you’ve won it!’

“I never thought it would be me. I’m a registered player and thought I would have heard from NSW Lotteries if I’d won.”

While the winner was a registered player, his registration details were not complete, which meant NSW Lotteries had no way of contacting him to deliver the life-changing news.

NSW Lotteries spokesperson Bronnie Spencer urged all Players Club card holders to keep their contact details up to date.

“We love to be able to deliver winning news, but can only do this if players’ details are up to date,” she explained.

“It would have been great to confirm the news for our winner sooner, but we had to wait for him to check his ticket, realise his good fortune and get in contact.

“We’re thrilled he has now been united with his million-dollar prize.”

The new millionaire, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 10-game marked entry at Eastlakes Newsagency, 1 Coward Street, Mascot.

Eastlakes Newsagency owner Angelina Nashaat said she was thrilled to have sold a division one winning ticket.

“What amazing news for our customer!” she exclaimed.

“We’re very excited to have helped change someone’s life and hope this is the start of a winning streak for our store.”

Across Australia, a total of 134 millionaires have been created by Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto this calendar year.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3799 on Wednesday 19 September 2018 were 10, 31, 40, 35, 9 and 15, while the supplementary numbers were 41 and 14.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 292 so far this calendar year, including 78 won by NSW Lotteries customers.

Last financial year, there were 82 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $80 million.
