A set of 10 Sunshine Coast players are beaming today after their syndicate scored division one in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Queenslanders were part of a store syndicate, called The Big One number 2, that held one of the four division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4287 on Saturday 20 August 2022.
In addition to scoring the division one prize of $1,413,555.61, the syndicate’s 50-game System 7 QuickPick entry also won division three 6 times, division four 3 times and division six 4 times, bolstering the total prize to $1,230,130.16.
Each syndicate member received a share worth $142,013.02.
Shares into the syndicate were sold at Cotton Tree News, 1/9 King Street, Maroochydore.
Cotton Tree News owner Leigh Grandy said the winning syndicate had been running for about three years.
“We love any big win, but the big syndicate wins are our favourite,” he said.
“We’re excited to congratulate our regular customers who we know bought a share into this syndicate when they come in.
“Our last division one win was last year when our The Big One syndicate won.
“People are genuinely happy that others have had a win. We wish our syndicate members all the best with their prize.”
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said he urged anyone who purchased a syndicate share from Cotton Tree News to check their entry today.
“While many of the winning Sunshine Coast syndicate members registered their entries to a player card, others may have yet to discover they’re part of this winning group,” he said.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4287 on 20 August 2022 were 6, 34, 16, 37, 42 and 35, while the supplementary numbers were 18 and 40.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4287 – two from Victoria and one each from Queensland and New South Wales.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 283 so far this calendar year, including 63 won by Golden Casket customers.
In 2021, Saturday Gold Lotto created 210 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 351 division one winning in Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $499.8 million.
