A Hills District retiree was eager to get off the phone and speak with his wife after a NSW Lotteries official called to tell him he’d won 1st Prize in the latest Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw and was $102,000 richer!
The happy retiree won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10247, drawn on Monday 17 September 2018.
The man’s entry also scored two consolation prizes of $1,000, bolstering his total win to $102,000.
Speaking to a NSW Lotteries official this afternoon, the man couldn’t contain his excitement.
“Wow! That’s very nice!” he exclaimed.
“I’ll have to race out and tell my wife.
“She doesn’t like me buying lottery tickets. I think she might change her tune today!”
While the thrilled winner admitted he would have liked to have won the Jackpot, he cheekily declared “I’ll gladly accept the $100,000!”
“I’ve been buying lottery tickets all my working life and I’m in an accepting mood.
“I’m in a winning frame of mind!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Kellyville Plaza Newsagency, Shop 21, 90 Wrights Road, Kellyville.
Kellyville Plaza Newsagency employee Kerry Henretty said the store was ecstatic to have sold a 1st Prize winning entry.
“We’re thrilled to have sold another winning ticket!” she said.
“We couldn’t be happier for our customer, and it’s been wonderful being able to share in his excitement.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $19.96 million for draw 1130 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $2.19 million for draw 10248.
