An entry from Adelaide won the entire $150 million Powerball jackpot tonight, but the identity of the new multi-millionaire and Australia’s biggest-ever lottery winner remains a mystery.

The mystery South Australian winner held the only division one winning entry in Powerball draw 1462 on 23 May 2024.

However, as tonight’s winning entry was not registered to a player card or online account, the identity of the ticketholder remains a complete mystery and they may have yet to discover they’re now $150 million richer.

Lottery officials are urging all South Australian residents or visitors who purchased an entry in tonight’s Powerball draw to check their tickets. Anyone who thinks they’re holding a division one winning ticket should contact on 131 868 to claim their prize.

In addition to the $150 million division one winner, there were 4,433,211 winners across divisions two to nine in tonight's game draw who collectively took home more than $89.3 million. This includes nine division two winners who each took home $276,036.95.

The Lott spokesperson Khat Intrachai said she was eagerly waiting for Australia’s newest multi-millionaire to make contact and start the prize claim process.

“Someone has become Australia’s biggest individual lottery winner and possibly doesn't know it yet. Can you imagine unwittingly walking around with a ticket worth $150 million?

“We can’t wait for them to discover this multi-million-dollar winning news! Just imagine how $150 million might change your life and the lives of your nearest and dearest.

“There are 150 million reasons why all South Australian players who had an entry in tonight’s draw should check their ticket as soon as possible.

“If you discover you’re holding the division one winning entry, hold on tight to that ticket and phone The Lott on 131 868 as soon as possible so that we can start the prize claim process!”

The Lott reminds players of the importance of registering their tickets to a player card or online account so their prizes are secure, and they can be contacted directly with the good news of a big win.

In South Australia, lottery winners have 12 months to claim their prize directly from The Lott. After that time, there is a process to claim the prize directly from the South Australian Government.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1462 on Thursday 23 May 2024 were 18, 29, 34, 8, 4, 28 and 6. The all-important Powerball number was 11.
