Having snared more Saturday Lotto division one wins last year than any other Australian state or territory, all eyes are on Victoria to see if it continues its winning streak in this weekend’s $20 Million Superdraw.

Between 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021, there were 351 Saturday Lotto division one winning entries across the country that collected more than $499 million in prize money.

The total number of Saturday Lotto division one winners hit a whopping 708 last year, including both individual division one winners and members of division one winning syndicates.

Victorians proved victorious in 2021, securing the most Saturday Lotto division one winning entries (107) and snaring the top spot for the most newly-minted Saturday Lotto millionaires (51).

New South Wales followed with 76 division one winning entries and 52 millionaires during the year. Queensland came in third with 70 Saturday Lotto division one winners and 43 millionaires (Table 1).

Interestingly, QuickPick entries, where the lottery terminal randomly chooses the numbers, won more than half (58%) of the Saturday Lotto division one prizes last year. Marked entries, where players chose the numbers on their entry, were responsible for 42% of the wins.

More than a quarter of all Saturday Lotto division one winning entries in 2021 were System entries, which allow players to select more numbers in a single game panel.

The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said she was eagerly waiting to confirm the news with the next set of Saturday Lotto division one winners.

“Last year, we broke the news to so many players who were ecstatic when they found out they were joining the exclusive list of Saturday Lotto division one winners," she shared.

"With the average individual Saturday Lotto win being about $1.4 million, you can imagine our winners were busy dreaming up grand plans for their windfalls.

"About two-thirds of Saturday Lotto winners mentioned sharing their win in some way, including helping their family and friends, spoiling their close ones to holidays and donating to important charities.

"About 70% of winners planned to celebrate with their friends and family. Many winners planned to celebrate their windfall by having drinks or parties, ordering takeaway, going out for a fancy dinner, or attending fun events like the footy.

“It’s fair to say every Aussie has a unique way of reacting to the news of a division one win and special plans for how they will enjoy their prize with their loved ones.

“Only time will tell where our next group of Saturday Lotto division one winners will land, but if you do want a chance to win, you do need an entry.

“For anyone buying an entry, I recommend that you register your entry to a player card or online account. This means your prize is secure, and I can give you a call with the life-changing news if you’re holding a division one winning entry.”

Lotto's $20 million Superdraw Saturday, draw 4243, will take place on 19 March 2022.

Tickets can be purchased at any licensed lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app before the draw close at 7.30pm AEST.
