A North Queensland woman has been left in shock after the same numbers she’s used for over 20 years won her almost $2 million in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The winning grandmother held one of the three division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4241, drawn Saturday 12 March 2022. Each division one winning entry scored $1,967,364.65.
Confirming her enormous prize with an official from The Lott today, the calm and collected woman admitted she’d always let herself imagine what she might do if she ever won, but now she couldn’t quite believe it.
“These things happen around the place, and you hear about the winners from time to time, but to have it happen to me is quite startling!” she exclaimed.
“It’s quite a strange feeling! I’ve used the same numbers for more than 20 years, so it’s amazing they were finally drawn.
“I used to have a list of things I’d do when I won. The first thing I’ll do is call my sister and ask her if she’s sitting down before I give her the news, then I might have to buy a house on the coast.
“We spent a lot of time there when I was growing up, and I’m quite nostalgic even thinking about it now.
“Of course, I can’t wait to tell the rest of my family who are based around Australia, and I’ll help them where I can too.”
Her winning marked 12-game entry was purchased at Hughenden News & Gifts, 49 Brodie St, Hughenden, 4821.
Hughenden News & Gifts owner Rosemary Sealy said it was simply mind-blowing to have sold another division one winning ticket, which was sure to be the talk of the town for weeks to come.
“No way! Woohoo!” she said.
“We couldn’t be happier for the winner, and we are just so excited for her.
“Of course, we wish her all the very best, and we are so happy that we could be a part of making her dreams come true.”
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4241 on 12 March 2022 were 35, 29, 4, 41, 40, 37, while the supplementary numbers were 27 and 21.
Across Australia, there were three division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4241 – two from Victoria and one from Queensland.
