A New South Wales man has revealed his heart was pounding when he answered a phone call from NSW Lotteries officials this afternoon to learn he’d won $200,000 in the latest Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.

The player won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1180, drawn Tuesday 18 December 2018.

When a NSW Lotteries official called the man this afternoon to break the exciting news, the unsuspecting winner took a little while to realise it wasn’t a prank call.

“This isn’t one of those prank calls, is it?” he questioned.

“My heart is pounding!

“For a moment there I thought you were going to tell me I’d won the $31 million, my heart was beating out of my chest.

“But $200,000 isn’t bad, is it?

“I feel a bit emotional actually.”

The man revealed he’d been playing Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot regularly, hoping to win big.

“I’ve been playing Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot for quite some time, watching the jackpot go up and up,” he said.

“I’ve won a few free tickets along the way but didn’t think I’d actually win the 1st prize.”

When asked what he planned to use his unexpected windfall, he said he was too shocked to think straight.

“I think I just need to sit down and when it sinks in that this wasn’t a prank call have a good think,” he admitted.

“If I had won the $31 million I wouldn’t be going back to work but I think the first thing we will think about is doing some home renovations.”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry of two random numbers online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $32.2 million for draw 1181 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $2.06 million for draw 10262.
