A group of 40 Victorians have had a winning finish to the first week of January, sharing a $10 million prize in tonight’s Powerball draw.

The winning crew held one of the two division one winning entries in Powerball draw 1547 on Thursday 8 January 2026.  The other division one winning entry was held by a Western Australian.

In addition to the $10 million division one prize, the Victorian syndicate, called 100 PowerHits, also scored division two 19 times, division eight 14 times and division nine 29 times, bolstering the group’s total haul to $10,220,866.

Each member of the Victorian syndicate took home a prize worth $255,521.65.

Members of the winning group are unknown to each other having purchased their syndicate share at 25 different Tatts outlets across Melbourne and Victoria.

Some of the syndicate shares were not registered to a player card or online account with The Lott Members Club, which means some winners may be unaware of their good fortune.

The syndicate was established by Vic Market Lotto, 82 Therry Street, Melbourne, with shares sold at:

As some of the syndicate members held unregistered entries, The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said he was unable to alert them to their win.

“A victorious group of Victorians have had a stellar start to 2026 by being part of this winning Powerball syndicate,” he said.

“While we will be reaching out to those syndicate members who registered their tickets to The Lott Members Club, there are several syndicate members who hold unregistered entries and may not yet know they’re part of this winning group.

“If you purchased a share into a group syndicate for the recent Powerball draw, today’s the day to check it!  You can check your ticket in-store, online at thelott.com or via The Lott app.

“If you discover you’re holding a winning share, call the Lott on 131 868 to start the prize claim process!”

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1547 on Thursday 8 January 2026 were 16, 25, 17, 15, 27, 7 and 26. The all-important Powerball number was 9.

Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Powerball draw 1547 – one each in Victoria and Western Australia.
