A single mum from Springfield Lakes is feeling eternally grateful to be able to purchase her own home outright after landing a $833,000 win in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Ipswich resident held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4557, drawn Saturday 22 March 2025. She looks forward to $833,501.02.
When the Queenslander checked her ticket on Saturday night, she initially thought she had won $8,300, until she had a double-take and was blown away by the enormity of her bounty.
“It’s absolutely amazing!” she exclaimed.
“I’m here with a colleague on loudspeaker; she told me she wanted to have a listen.
“It honestly hasn’t hit me yet. I checked the ticket before bed on Saturday night and I thought I’d won $8,300 at first. I thought, ‘Oh that’s cool! I’ll take it!’. But then I had another look.
“I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t fall asleep until 4am that night.
“I feel as if the universe is looking down on me, or my mum and dad.
“A young man served me on Saturday, and I wonder if someone else served me or if I visited another newsagency that I wouldn’t have won!
“This will help me buy a house outright. I’m also a couple years off retirement. It will just be a huge help.
“I’m feeling very grateful. It still hasn’t sunk in. I don’t know if it ever will!”
Her winning 25-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Nextra Orion, Shop 29, Orion Springfield, 1 Main Street, Springfield.
Nextra Orion owner Vivek Ganesh said his team were so excited to have sold another division one winning entry in less than three months.
“It’s so exciting. We have sold several division one winning entries and top prize Instant Scratch-Its tickets in the last few years,” he shared.
“We started the year with a bang when we sold a division one winning entry in the Saturday Lotto Megadraw, and now we’ve sold another one a few months later!
“We’ve already started to celebrate this win and share our excitement with all of our customers. We’ve even made a Facebook post about the division one win and have put up posters.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4557 on 22 March 2025 were 16, 11, 42, 34, 29 and 45, while the supplementary numbers were 14 and 18.
