One Adelaide Christmas shopper is having the most wonderful time of the year after winning a $250,000 Keno Spot 8 prize on the weekend, while doing their Christmas shopping.
The South Australian winner scored a Spot 8 prize of $250,000 in Keno draw 2441200, drawn on Sunday 9 December 2018.
How the winner plans to spend their Keno windfall and enjoy their $250,000 win will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
With Christmas just around the corner, SA Lotteries spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said this Keno winner would no doubt have a great end to the year and beginning to the New Year.
“What a great time of the year to win, with Christmas and the New Year just around the corner,” she said.
“While we don’t know how the Adelaide shopper will enjoy their Keno win, there is no doubt they’ll be spoiling their loved ones on Christmas when their bank account balloons by $250,000.”
The winning Keno Spot 8 entry was purchased at Myer Centre Newsagent, Shop T26, Terrace Level, Myer Centre, Rundle Mall, Adelaide.
Myer Centre Newsagent owner Sean Farrell said he was thrilled his outlet had sold a winning Keno Spot 8 entry.
“We are extremely pleased for the winner,” he said.
“I bet they’ll be enjoying Christmas even more now they’re $250,000 richer!
“It’s not only great for the customer but it’s also great for the store.
“We are definitely feeling a bit lucky now and we have seen a surge of customers since the win.
“Fingers crossed this win helps generate some more wins, and we can make more of our customers big winners.”
In the 12 months to 30 June 2018, there were 19 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who landed more than $4.52 million. Spot 10 was won twice during this time – a prize of more than $2.017 million in December 2017 and a prize of more than $1.474 million in April 2018.
Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 8 prize, a player must match all eight of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
