An Aitkenvale woman is saying goodbye to rental properties and stepping into the housing market after scratching her way to a $100,000 top prize win on a recent Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The Townsville resident’s winning $5 Polar Bear Bingo Plus Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased from Hermit Park News & Casket, Shop 5, Hermit Park Shopping Centre, Charters Towers Road, Hermit Park.
“It’s all a bit surreal!” she said when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“Every now and then, my husband and I will purchase two Instant Scratch-Its tickets and scratch one each.
“I happened to choose this ticket this week and scratched a $100,000 prize!
“We honestly couldn’t believe it. We had to get our friends to check over the ticket to make sure we weren’t seeing things.
“This is going to mark the start of our house hunting journey.
“We never thought we’d be able to buy a house, but now we can.
“It’s all very exciting.”
Hermit Park News & Casket team member Layla Perfect shared she instantly got goosebumps when she scanned the Instant Scratch-Its top prize winning ticket worth $100,000.
“I was the staff member to scan the winning ticket, and I instantly got goosebumps,” she said.
“We know how much $100,000 can change someone’s life and it’s so special to be a part of their win.
“All of customer’s are supportive of each other and are happy to hear a local player has won big.
“Over the years, we’ve sold a division one winning syndicate entry and several division two winning tickets.
“We hope our latest winner can create some beautiful memories and enjoy their prize!”
