They say dogs are a man’s best friend, but one Albert Park man now has a cat to thank for his $200,000 Lucky Lotteries win.
The Victorian man won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1407, drawn Tuesday 30 July 2019.
Speaking with a Tatts official this morning to confirm his win, the Melbourne resident recalled how he discovered his windfall whilst taking his dog for a walk.
“I found out on the weekend when I was walking my dog. I checked my online account and saw that I won,” he explained.
“I was really shocked! I ran home straight away to tell my missus.
“She was really excited. She almost hit the ceiling!
“I am still trying to get used to the feeling.
“It feels very surreal!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the happy man declared he wanted to use it wisely.
“I don’t really know how I am going to spend it,” he said.
“It’s a lot of money and I need time to think about how I will use it.
“I want to take my time with it. I will definitely do something fun with it to celebrate, but I want time to think first.
“I am sure my wife will have a few plans as well, but for now we will just sit on it until we know for sure how we can use it wisely.”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $87.64 million for draw 1412 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $2.84 million for draw 10303.
