An Alice Springs man has confessed he can’t wait to pay off the rest of his mortgage after a free ticket scored him $100,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.
The Northern Territory resident won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10816, drawn Tuesday 12 December 2023.
In addition to his $100,000 bounty, the winning man’s entry also scored a consolation prize of $1,000, bolstering his total prize to $101,000.
“Oh, thank you very much!” he cheered when an official from The Lott called to confirm his life-enhancing victory.
“I just checked the results online! I can’t believe it.
“I showed my wife and said, ‘Is this true or what?’
“Oh yeah, and I won on a free ticket that I got from a previous draw!
“We’ll be able to fully pay off the house which is a dream come true. We only have a bit left so this is a great help!”
His winning entry of two consecutive numbers was purchased online at thelott.com - Australia’s official lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $10.60 million for draw 1637, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $7.39 million for draw 10817.
In FY23, 218 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $79.20 million.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
