Forget the bottle of champagne, an Alstonville resident is celebrating his $100,000 Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot win with a trip down to the doctors to receive his COVID-19 vaccination.

The shocked New South Wales player won the $100,000 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10460, drawn 13 May 2021.

The ticket was unregistered, so officials from The Lott had no way of contacting the winner to break the news and had to wait for him to come forward to claim his prize.

Speaking with an official from The Lott this morning, the overjoyed man admitted the win couldn’t have come at a better time.

“I’m in complete shock,” he happily expressed.

“When I found out, I thought I had just won $100! Not the first prize.

“There were a lot of zeros. I had to check twice.

“I’m a regular player of Lucky Lotteries, so I’m excited to see a big win come my way.”

When asked how he planned to celebrate his windfall today, the cheerful man said he already had his day planned.

“I’m going to get the COVID-19 shot!” he declared.

“I also haven’t been on vacation for a while, so maybe I’ll do that.

“I’ve been wanting to visit Tasmania for a while and see some places.

“This is such great news!”

The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry of two consecutive numbers at Alstonville Newsagency, 79-83 Main Street, Alstonville.

Alstonville Newsagency owner Ray Smith said he was pleased for his Lucky Lotteries winner.

“We’re happy to hear that the prize had finally been claimed, especially to a regular!

“Everyone had been coming in to check their tickets. We’ve had a big response.

“We even put something out on our social media pages to notify our customers to check their tickets.

“This is our first big prize that we’ve had. We hope to have many more!

“It is a friendly reminder to register your entries. It makes things easier when there is a winner.

“It is great news.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $1 million for draw 1535, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $5.44 million for draw 10464.

In 2020, 141 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $48.61 million.

During this time, the biggest Lucky Lotteries prize was won by an Ermington woman who a Mega Jackpot prize of $11.73 million in January.
