An Altona Meadows woman was so shocked by the revelation she’d won $852,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw that she hung up on an official from The Lott this morning as they were trying to deliver the news.
The Victorian held one of the seven division one winning entries across Australia in TattsLotto draw 4159, drawn Saturday 29 May 2021. Each division one winning entry took home $852,722.91.
When an official from The Lott called the Melbourne woman to break the exciting news, she was just hopping out of bed and had no idea she’d scored division one.
“Oh my god, I am so sorry. I only just woke up and I thought it must be some kind of scam, so I hung up,” she laughed.
“I checked my ticket online just then and knew I had to call you straight back.
“This isn’t even registering right now. I can’t believe this!
“It’s absolutely fantastic.
“It’s a huge, huge shock.
“I just can’t believe it.
“I need to take the day to let it all sink in!
“We’re in lockdown at the moment, so we can’t do too much to celebrate, but we might get some takeaway and crack open a bottle of wine tonight.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her division one windfall, the giggling winner had one thing in mind.
“This will be used for my retirement,” she explained.
“It’s sped up my retirement plans, so that’s very nice.
“I am sure I will do a few little things to spoil myself! I might get some nice jewellery or even a new Dyson vacuum!”
The winning marked 18-game entry was purchased at Central Lotto, Shop 14 Central Square Shopping Centre, 1 Central Avenue, Altona Meadows.
Central Lotto owner Bruce Zheng said he couldn’t be any more thrilled by the news.
“We were incredibly excited when we heard we’d sold another division one winning entry,” he said.
“This is the second division one winning entry we have sold in two months!
“We are so glad to hear our customer’s dreams can come true thanks to this win.
“We would like to share this fantastic news with all of our customers. This news is sure to put a smile on all of their faces.
