For the second time in less than a week, a Lotto division one win has landed in the Parkes region, with the latest winner admitting the revelation sent his heart racing.
The local man held one of the nine division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3895, drawn on Saturday 17 November 2018. Each entry took home a division one prize of $456,752.50.
Speaking to a NSW Lotteries official this morning to claim his prize, the thrilled winner recounted the moment he realised he was almost half-a-million dollars richer.
“I always check my numbers online on a Sunday morning. That’s when I saw I had three numbers in a row, but then I thought ‘hang on, there are six numbers there!’.
“Oh my God. I thought I was going to have a heart attack.
“I’ve been playing every Saturday for a few years and I’ve never won anything other than division six before.
“This is just fantastic.”
When asked how he might spend his Lotto prize, the man shared some ideas were already beginning to form in his mind.
“I’m going to be careful. I’ve got about half a dozen things I’d like to do, but I’ll wait until I see the money in my bank account first.
“I’ll probably take a trip around Australia… with a big smile on my face!”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Trundle Newsagency, 63 Forbes Street, Trundle.
Last Wednesday, a South Australian couple travelling in the region scored a million-dollar division one win in Monday & Wednesday Lotto from an entry they purchased in Parkes.
Trundle Newsagency owner Anthony Wright said it was great to see another division one win in the region.
“With the current drought it’s great to have some good news to talk about and hopefully this provides a little morale boost to the community,” he said.
“Parkes sold one the other day, so it’s incredible to think there’s been another one in the region.
“I’m looking forward to letting all our customers know!”
So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto have created 159 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3895 on Saturday 17 November 2018 were 26, 19, 31, 30, 6 and 18, while the supplementary numbers were 25 and 16.
Across Australia, there were nine division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 3895.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 150 so far this financial year, including 47 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2018, there were 290 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $302.7 million.
