A Nelson’s Bay woman has clocked off work for the day and is on her way to surprise her husband after learning she’d won a life-changing $27.5 million in today’s Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The Port Stephens resident won the Jackpot Prize of $27.5 million in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot, drawn Monday 16 March 2026.
While there is a guaranteed 1st Prize winner in every draw, the Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize climbed to $27.52 million after there were no Jackpot Prize winners for 99 consecutive draws.
When we called to confirm the thrilling news, the winning woman confessed she’d experienced a strong gut feeling that something good was coming her way.
“Oh my god! Oh my god! Are you kidding me?!” the winning woman gasped when an official from The Lott rang and interrupted her workday.
“I’m just at work and you’ve got me shaking like crazy.
“I can’t hold back the tears. My eyes are going all blurry on me.
“I’ve been long-time player and recently I had a really good feeling about the Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
“I’m over the moon. I’m elated. Oh gosh, I don’t even know what to think or feel right now.
“I think I need to go and tell my boss I’m not coming back to work.
“I think I’ll pay my husband a visit at his work. I’ve never gone to his work before, so he’ll know something’s up.
“This is just amazing!”
With a multi-million-dollar payday heading her way, the overjoyed winner shared helping friends and family would come first.
“There’s so many people I want to help and there’s so much I could do,” she said.
“Twenty seven million dollars is a lot of money. I don’t need that much money all to myself.
“For me, I’ll be able to turn retirement into reality. That’s just amazing! Thank you!”
Her winning of four consecutive numbers was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $1.00 million for draw 1781, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $1.54 million for draw 11065.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.
