For the first time in more than five years, Australians will this week have the chance to win two separate Australian lottery jackpots worth $50 million each.
During the next four days, the Lott is offering a twin division one delight with Tuesday’s Oz Lotto and Thursday’s Powerball both offering a $50 million prize.
The massive jackpots make this week one of the biggest lottery events of 2018. Tomorrow’s $50 million jackpot is the biggest for Oz Lotto so far this year, while Thursday’s $50 million is the second biggest for Powerball in 2018.
With a collective prize pool of $100 million up for grabs, up to one-in-five adult Australians are expected to have an entry in at least one of the draws.
While every number has an equal chance of being drawn, ahead of the two $50 million draws the Lott has crunched the numbers and revealed the “hot” and “cold” numbers for each game.
Draw 1 – Tuesday’s $50 Million Oz Lotto:
- The most frequently drawn winning number in Oz Lotto is 33 (drawn 150 times), while the least drawn winning number is 10 (107 times).
Draw 2 – Thursday’s $50 Million Powerball:
- The most frequently drawn winning number in Powerball is 32 (drawn 12 times), while the least drawn winning number is 12 (1 time).
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said it was a rare to see the nation’s two jackpotting games synchronise to both offer a massive $50 million division one prize within days of each other.
“It’s only once in a blue moon we see Oz Lotto and Powerball offer the same stellar prize. With $50 million up for grabs on Tuesday and then again on Thursday, this week is shaping up to be one of 2018’s biggest weeks for Australian lotteries,” he said.
“Both Oz Lotto and Powerball have been jackpotting for six weeks to both land on the same whopping prize of $50 million.
“Imagine how the rest of your life might be transformed if you won a share of the combined $100 million prize pool across the two draws.
“Whether you decide to mark your coupon with ‘hot’ and ‘cold’ numbers, or just grab a QuickPick, the best way to ensure you’re in with a chance to win a slice of the $100 million pie is to have an entry into these draws.
“There will be influx of people wanting to grab their ticket – both in lottery outlets and online – so get in early to ensure you have your entry before the draws close.”
Mr Hart said he also urged customers to register their entries to a player card, as not only did registration ensure your prize was secure, it also ensured you could be contacted directly with the life-changing news of your division one win.
Tickets in Oz Lotto draw 1276 on Tuesday 31 July and Powerball draw 1159 on Thursday 2 August can be purchased at any the Lott outlet, online from thelott.com or via the Lott mobile app.
