Aussies are dreaming about how 2023 and beyond might look with a $100 million Powerball prize in their bank accounts.
Powerball has soared to a phenomenal $100 million for this week’s draw, draw 1389 on Thursday 29 December 2022 – the last Powerball draw of the year.
The $100 million prize is the third biggest jackpot offered by any Australian lottery game this year. It’s also the fifth-biggest jackpot in Australian lottery history.
The Powerball jackpot has reached this level after there were no division one winners during the past four draws.
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said up to half of all Australian adults were expected to have an entry into this week’s Powerball draw in the hope they could enter 2023 as a newly-minted multi-millionaire.
“The last time Powerball offered a $100 million prize, in October 2022, the peak of sales was at 6.12pm on the day of the draw when more than 6,900 tickets were sold in a single minute,” he said.
“If just one person scores the entire $100 million prize on Thursday night, they’ll also be crowned the second biggest Australian lottery winner in history.
“The idea of winning this life-changing jackpot just moments before 2023 arrives is sure to get Aussies dreaming big this week.
“As long as you’ve got a ticket in your hand before the draw’s close at 7.30pm AEST on Thursday night, you’re in with a chance to win!
“If you’re grabbing a ticket, be sure to register your entry to a player card or online account. This means if you win division one, we can call you immediately after the draw with the life-changing news.”
Powerball draw 1389 closes 7.30pm AEST on Thursday 29 December 2022.
Tickets can be purchased at any licensed lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.
