A mystery Bathurst shopper has finally realised their good fortune two weeks after winning $200,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The New South Wales player won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1234, drawn Wednesday 27 February 2019.
The winning entry was not registered to a Players Club card, which means NSW Lotteries officials had no way of contacting the winner and had to wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.
However, how the mystery winner plans to enjoy their Lucky Lotteries windfall will forever remain shrouded in secrecy, as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The winner purchased their one random number entry at Newspower Bathurst, Shop 20 Bathurst City Centre, 46-52 William Street, Bathurst.
Newspower Bathurst co-owner Stacey Buttsworth said she was excited to hear that the winner had been united with their prize.
“Everyone in store has been pretty excited since we discovered we’d sold a 1st Prize winning entry!” she exclaimed.
“We’ve been telling everyone to check their tickets and it’s been the talk of the town as to whether the winner had claimed the prize.
“I’m happy to share with my customers that the winner has come forward. We wish them all the best with their win!”
NSW Lotteries spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said while we might never know how the Bathurst player planned to spend their prize, we were sure the win brought a smile to their face.
“What an incredible surprise to discover you’ve had a $200,000 winning ticket in your hand for a fortnight!” she exclaimed.
“No doubt our winner’s plans for the weekend will change after discovering they are now hundreds of thousands of dollars richer! There will be some celebrations happening in Bathurst for sure!
“Lucky Lotteries winners tell us their 1st Prize gives them the freedom to spoil their families, go on overseas holidays, pay off their mortgages or splurge on something they’ve been dreaming of.
“However our winner chooses to enjoy their windfall we are sure they’ll enjoy every minutes of it!”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $48.76 million for draw 1250 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $4.14 million for draw 10278.
