A trio of siblings from Beaufort are happily planning to bring forward their retirement date after their private syndicate scored division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The trio’s entry held one of the nine division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3895, drawn on Saturday 17 November 2018. Each entry took home a division one prize of $456,752.50.

The syndicate leader was oblivious to her family’s good fortune until a Tatts official made contact with her this morning.

“Oh my God! Wow! Thank you,” she exclaimed when the win was confirmed.

“There’s actually three of us in this syndicate, so that’s worked out nicely. Just over $150,000 each.

“I can’t wait to give the others a call.

“Just the other day, one of them was stirring me up about it, saying ‘what’s happening with our TattsLotto ticket?’. They probably won’t believe me when I tell them now.”

The happy winner shared how the family’s winning private syndicate came to be and how the siblings might use their TattsLotto windfall.

“We started this syndicate about four years ago when we got together and decided to have a family TattsLotto entry. The idea was to win so that we could all retire at the same time,” she laughed.

“This won’t enable us to retire just yet, but it will get us closer to it!”

The syndicate members, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry at Beaufort Newsagency & Lotto, 66-68 Neill Street, Beaufort.

Beaufort Newsagency & Lotto owner Mary Cox said she was over the moon her outlet had sold another division one winning entry.

“It’s very good! We’ve been here since 2004 and we sold our last division one in 2007. We thought we were long overdue for another one and it’s great we can finally say to our customers we’ve done it again,” she said.

“I’m sorry it wasn’t me, but I’m just happy we got to sell it to one of our customers.”

So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and TattsLotto have created 159 millionaires across Australia.
