A Casula man’s birthday celebrations have gone from candles to cash after a gifted Instant Scratch-Its ticket turned into a $150,000 top prize win.
The Sydneysider’s winning $10 Spicy Hot Crosswords Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased from Lucky Corporation Newsagency, Shop 4, 509 Hume Highway, Cnr Hume Highway & De Meyrick Avenue, Casula.
After initially winning $30 from his birthday tickets, the man decided to reinvest his winnings leading to the life-changing $150,000 prize.
“Thank you! I’m still so excited,” he said.
“It just feels unusual because I never actually buy tickets myself, but I got some for my birthday.
“I won about $30 on those gifted tickets, so I thought I’d grab a couple more, and one of them turned out to be the big winner.
“It was such a coincidence. I couldn’t believe it.
“It’s a pretty great birthday present. I’m not sure anyone will be able to top it!
When asked how he planned to use his prize, the winning man confessed he was still too stunned to make any immediate decisions.
“I have no grand plans yet!” he said.
“I’ll just have a good think about it and make sure I’m smart with it.”
Lucky Corporation Newsagency owner Simon Truong said he was over the moon his outlet sold a top prize-winning Instant Scratch Its ticket.
“We are so excited! We’ll be putting up posters and sharing the happy news with all our customers,” he said.
“We sold two division one prizes in Saturday Lotto in 2024, so we're thrilled the winning streak has continued.
“Congratulations to our customer and we wish you all the best with your prize.”
