More than a week after the winning numbers were drawn, a long-time Manly resident has returned from his holidays to finally discover the life-changing news he is a million dollars richer.
The man’s entry was the only division one winning entry across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3803 on Wednesday 26 September 2018. He takes home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
The oblivious winner had his breakfast interrupted by a phone call from a NSW Lotteries official with the revelation he was now a millionaire.
“Holy smokes! This is unbelievable. Oh my god,” he shouted.
“I’m just back from a fantastic holiday so this is just great. I read in the paper that someone had won from Humphrey’s Newsagency but I didn’t think anything of it.
“It’s the best news I’ve ever had!
“I’ve played for years and used the same numbers each week. I’ve just stuck with them. Blimey Charlie!”
Despite the shock of his breakfast-time surprise, the man already has some plans for his Monday & Wednesday Lotto million-dollar prize.
“I’ve been wanting to buy a little farm for a while and I think this might be the leg up I need. I might also never need to work again,” he said.
“Everything will be hunky dory!”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his marked 12-game entry at Humphrey’s Newsagency, 60 The Corso, Manly.
Humphrey’s Newsagency manager Elmo Do Paco said he was thrilled the outlet had sold another division one winning entry.
“We are so excited to have sold another one! The last one we sold was a couple of years ago,” he explained.
“That’s good to hear. We wish our winner all the very best with their win.”
So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto have created 142 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3803 on Wednesday 26 September 2018 were 11, 5, 14, 45, 39 and 8, while the supplementary numbers were 36 and 26.
Across Australia there was only one division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3803.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 299 so far this calendar year, including 80 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
Last financial year, there were 73 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won $73 million.
