A Blackburn man and his family are ready to pack their bags and fulfil a long-held dream of going to Disneyland after he won division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The Melbourne man in his 40s held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3937, drawn Saturday 13 April 2019. Each winner takes home a division one prize of $574,330.46.
The winner was oblivious to his good fortune until a Tatts official delivered the life-changing news this morning. He confessed the revelation brought a tear to his eye.
“Oh fantastic! I’m tearing up,” he exclaimed.
“It couldn’t have come at a better time. We want to take the kids away to America – to Disneyland. We’ve been saving up for so long. It’s just terrific.
“I couldn’t ask for any more. It will just set up our lives. We don’t want to be multi-millionaires, this is enough to set up the family.”
While he’d been using the same numbers on his entry for years, the winner revealed he had recently contemplated ditching them.
“I just play these numbers every week. I was actually going to change them last week. I’m glad I didn’t!” he said.
“You’ve got to be in it to win it!
“I need to absorb this! It’s huge.”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 12-game marked entry at Blackburn North Square Lotto Shop, Shop 26, Blackburn North Shopping Centre, Cnr William & Springfield Road, Blackburn North.
Blackburn North Square Lotto Shop owner Shan Chen said she attributed the win to her outlet being a “lucky feng shui spot”.
“Our customers will be so happy to hear we’ve had a winner and can’t wait to be the next division one winner.
“We’ve had quite a few division one wins since the shop opened in 2004, with our last one in 2016. We’ve been putting balloons out this morning to decorate our lucky shop.”
In 2018, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and TattsLotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3937 on Saturday 13 April 2019 were 16, 21, 18, 25, 22 and 19, while the supplementary numbers were 41 and 4.
Across Australia, there were seven division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 3937, four from Victoria, two from Queensland, and one from Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 104 so far this calendar year, including 49 won by Tatts customers.
In the 12 months to 31 December 2018, there were 280 division one winning TattsLotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $306.19 million.
