A Blacktown mum is happily planning a family Christmas reunion thanks to one of the top prizes of $25,000 she scratched on a $2 Festive Fun Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The happy woman purchased her winning ticket at St Martins Village Newsagency, 7 St Martins Crescent, Blacktown.
“This is a good surprise for me!” she declared while speaking with a NSW Lotteries official this week to claim her prize.
“While I was at the newsagency I saw there were some new Christmas tickets so I bought five of them and scratched them at home.
“This one was in the middle of the bunch, I also managed to scratch a $3 win and a $10 win so it was a very lucky day.
“I’ve been holding on tight to this ticket ever since. I kept this ticket in my handbag, close to the bed all night while I slept until I could come here and claim it.”
“I can’t believe it really. This is really exciting.”
The woman revealed she planned to use some of the windfall to visit some of her cherished family currently living overseas this festive season.
“It’s come at the best time. It will be a wonderful Christmas.”
St Martins Village Newsagency owner Qing Zhang said he was cheering in store when he found out they sold a top prize winning Instant Stratch-Its ticket.
“It’s very exciting, we love it when our regular customers win!” he exclaimed.
During the 12 months to 30 June 2018, there were 158 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $11.28 million.
