A Blakeview man’s Keno entry has given him a ticket to ride off in a new set of wheels after winning $50,000 in a recent draw.
The South Australian scored the $50,000 Keno Spot 8 prize in draw 220118 872, drawn 18 January 2022.
“I like to play Keno every now and again, but I never watch the draw,” he explained when speaking with an official from The Lott.
“It usually takes me about a week or at least a few days to check my ticket. I only checked this ticket today! I wish I’d found out sooner.
“I probably checked it about 100 times because I was so confused and shocked by the win.
“I had no idea the Spot 8 prize had been won, and I never expected to win it myself.
“You dream of winning a big amount, but you never really think it’ll happen to you. It’s awesome!
“I was alone when I found out the news, so I couldn’t celebrate with anyone, but I was still so thrilled.
“Honestly, it’s come at the best time. I recently had a car accident and so now I’m carless. It’s been a bit annoying, but this changes that.
“I can’t wait to get myself a new car! I’ll probably go car shopping this weekend.
“It’s a great win! I’m stoked about it.”
The winning entry was purchased at Blakeview Newsagency, Blake's Crossing Shopping Centre, Shop 10 / 63-83 Main Terrace, Blakeview.
Blakeview Newsagency owner Peter Steven said the entire team was ecstatic about the win.
“We’ve been celebrating at the outlet and telling everyone we’ve sold a major Keno prize. It’s very exciting,” he said.
“It's great to hear the prize has gone to a local customer. We really hope our winner enjoys it.
“It’s amazing to deliver a major win to a customer and we can’t wait to do it again.”
In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, there were more than 5 million Keno wins across South Australia worth more than $133.2 million. This included 37 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners who scored more than $6.37 million.
