A Bribie Island couple’s morning commute quickly turned into a roadside celebration after discovering they’d scored $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.
The win was made even more remarkable by the fact the couple had previously landed a division two Set for Life prize, which won them $5,000 a month for a year.
The Queensland duo held the only division one winning entry nationally in Set for Life draw 3883, drawn Tuesday 24 March 2026. They took home a whopping $4.8 million paid in monthly instalments of $20,000 a month over 20 years.
When an official from The Lott broke the incredible news, the winning husband could barely contain his shock.
“Oh my god! Are you serious? Are you serious?!” he exclaimed.
“I’ve got to get out of the car for a second. I can’t even talk. I’m all over the joint.
“I cannot believe it. My wife's just about to collapse.
“This is life-changing. We’ll be able to retire.
“We’re such hardworking people. We’re always helping others and often put ourselves last, so it feels like everything we’ve done for others has finally come back to us.
“You know what, a few years ago, we actually won division two in Set for Life and now look at this. I’m so taken aback right now.
“I checked my ticket this morning, but I thought I had won only $8. I must have been looking at the wrong thing!”
The winning wife said the surreal news had left them trembling.
“I’m shaking,” she said.
“It’s been tough lately. It’s true, we’re hardworking people and we’ve had to be strong. This is life-changing.
“You’re an absolute angel! Thank you so much.
“Now we’ll just need to calm down and take it all in.
“Our heads are spinning!”

The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 3883 on Tuesday 24 March 2026 were 28, 7, 5, 36, 43, 17 and 33, while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 11.
