A Brighton man’s monthly routine of grabbing a bundle of Instant Scratch-Its tickets has led him to a life-enhancing $25,000 win.
The top prize winning $2 Dice Doubler at Glenorchy Central Newsagency, Shop 10, Glenorchy Central Shopping Centre, Eady Street, Glenorchy.
Speaking with an official from The Lott, the regular player said he was elated after discovering his good fortune.
“It’s the biggest win I’ve ever had!” he exclaimed.
“I was at my parents’ house when I scratched the top prize. We were all over the moon. I had to do a double-take to make sure it was real.
“As soon as I confirmed the prize, I took a photo and sent it to a couple of my close friends. I said to them, ‘this is what it looks like if you win. Top prize winning tickets do exist!’.
“Every month, I purchase about 10 Instant Scratch-Its tickets to see how I might go.
“You always wonder what you would do with a million-dollar prize, but never really if you win smaller amounts, so I haven’t had a chance to think about what I might do with $25,000 as of yet.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure I’ll put it to good use!
“Thank you, thank you!”
Glenorchy Central Newsagency owner Shirleen Wickham said the team was very excited for their latest Instant Scratch-Its winner.
“It has been a very difficult time for the community with the surge of COVID cases, so it’s great to hear some good news has come out of our outlet,” she said.
“I’m sure all of our customers will be pleased to hear that we’ve sold a top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

In 2021, there were 157 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $10 million in top prizes.
