A Broadmeadows man who was encouraged by his wife to check his TattsLotto ticket to see if he had won anything was flabbergasted to discover his $1.8 million windfall in the weekend’s draw.

The Melburnian held one of the 11 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4409, drawn Saturday 21 October 2023. Each division one winning entry took home $1,818,181.82.

The merry man was at work this morning when he received a phone call from lottery officials confirming his newfound fortune.

“I’m in disbelief,” he laughed.

“I’ve been waiting for your call!

“My wife checked her TattsLotto after dinner last night and she realised she didn’t win anything, so she told me to check mine.

“I told her that I would check it later in the night, but she kept persisting that I check the ticket.

“I decided to scan the ticket on The Lott app and my heart started racing. She looked at me and said, ‘What? What?’

“We couldn’t believe it. We were in so much shock.

‘”Thank you so much for this phone call.”

The victorious Victorian shared him and his wife had already started brainstorming plans all the that the million-dollar win could bring for them.

“We’ve already started to talk about buying a house and have been looking at real estate,” he revealed.

“We would like to pay off some debts as well.”

His winning System 8 entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4409 on 21 October 2023 were 30, 29, 7, 2, 31 and 12, while the supplementary numbers were 9 and 33.

Across Australia, there were 11 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4409 – four in Queensland, four in New South Wales, two in Victoria and one in Tasmania.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 340 so far in 2023, including 112 won by Tatts customers.
