A northern Sydney shopper has discovered their very own trove of treasure after scratching one of the top prizes of $10,000 on a $1 Treasure Chest Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

The winning $1 Treasure Chest Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Warringah Mall Newsagency, Shop 1420, Westfield Warringah Mall, Brookvale.

Who the winner is and how they plan to use their instant windfall will remain a mystery, as the ticketholder has chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.

NSW Lotteries spokesperson Lauren Cooney said with the winner’s bank balance set to balloon by $10,000 just before Christmas, there’s no doubt this player has extra reasons to celebrate during the festive season.

“Imagine heading into Christmas knowing you’ve won $10,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket. What a way to finish 2018 and start the new year!” she said.

“While we don’t know how our latest Instant Scratch-Its top prize winner will use their instant windfall, in the past other Instant Scratch-Its winners have gone on incredible holidays, paid off their mortgages or used their prize to set themselves up for the future.

“A woman who won a major prize around this time last year even changed her New Year’s Eve plans at short notice and headed straight to New York to celebrate her win.”

Warringah Mall Newsagency team member Phillip said the outlet is celebrating after selling the top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its.

“It’s been a couple of years since we’ve sold a top prize winning Instant Scratch-It, so it’s great to be back on a winning streak,” he said.

“And what great timing for this player to win $10,000 just before Christmas!”

Last financial year, there were 158 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $11.28 million.

The latest range of Instant Scratch-Its tickets are available now at NSW Lotteries outlets. It can happen in an instant. It could happen to you.
