Two Brunswick friends who have been playing the same numbers for 25 years are celebrating scoring division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The Melbourne mates held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4551 on Saturday 1 March 2025. Each division one winning entry pocketed $884,118.73.
“I checked my ticket on Saturday night after the draw,” one of the friends told an official from The Lott.
“I went to bed and did that kind of thing where you think, ‘wouldn’t it be nice to win TattsLotto’. Then I had a look at my ticket and I thought, ‘oh my god!’.
“My friend and I have been playing these same numbers since 1999! We take turns buying the ticket for 10 weeks at a time.
“We got together the first week after our first professional jobs. We sat down and thought about retirement! We sat at lunch and pulled the numbers out of the bag and created the entry! We’ve been playing them ever since!
“I called her on Saturday night. I don’t think she believed me, so in the end I had to send her a screenshot of the ticket.
“We didn’t sleep much on Saturday night and had a celebratory breakfast on Sunday morning.
“From holidays to investing for retirement. It just allows you to do some of those things you keep putting off because you’d be spending money.
“It just makes life easier.
“How amazing!”
The two friends’ winning marked 12-game entry was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4551 on 1 March 2025 were 13, 11, 37, 12, 3 and 6, while the supplementary numbers were 44 and 2.
Across Australia, there were six division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4551 – two from South Australia and one each from Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 322 so far in FY25, including 117 won by Tatts customers.
In 2024, TattsLotto created 149 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 316 division one winning TattsLotto entries across Australia that collectively won more than $400.2 million.
