He knows his favourite numbers off by heart, so a Brunswick retiree’s heart was pounding when he saw the results of a recent TattsLotto draw and realised he was a division one winner.
The man held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3867 on 11 August 2018. Each entry took home a division one prize of $671,513.12.
In addition to the division one prize, the man’s marked System 8 entry also scored division three 12 times and division four 15 times, bolstering his total prize to $685,205.57.
Speaking to a Tatts official today, the man recounted the moment he saw the draw’s winning numbers and discovered the life-changing news.
“I normally check the numbers first thing Sunday morning. But on this occasion I was out having coffee and I saw the numbers in the paper,” he explained.
“I said to my wife ‘Guess what! I’ve got the six numbers’. But she didn’t believe me until she checked them herself.
“I know my numbers. I’ve been playing them for years. I know them by heart.
“It was just fantastic to see them printed in the paper.”
The regular TattsLotto player shared he plans to share his division one windfall with those at the top of his Lotto List – his adult children.
“It will come in handy and it will be good to help them out,” he said.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning marked System 8 entry at Northbrun Tatts & Subnews, 877 Sydney Road, Brunswick.
Northbrun Tatts & Subnews owner Dinh Nguyen said the win marked a double milestone for his outlet.
“That division one win came on the 10th anniversary of us being at this outlet. The exact day!” he shared.
“It’s also our first division one winning entry we’ve sold so there’s two reasons to celebrate.
“We wish our customer all the best with their prize.”

The six winning numbers in Saturday TattsLotto draw 3867 on Saturday 11 August 2018 were 1, 23, 8, 15, 44, and 20. The supplementary numbers were 11 and 18.
