A Bundaberg man has taken a trip down memory lane after winning his second major lottery prize – this time a sensational $3.3 million division one win in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Wide Bay resident held one of the six division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4547, drawn Saturday 15 February 2025. He looks forward to a total prize of $3,333,333.34.
This marks the second major lottery win in the Wide Bay-Burnett region in 2025, bringing the area's total winnings to $5.47 million.
The winning entry was unregistered meaning officials from The Lott had no way of contacting the ticketholder and had to wait for him to check his ticket and come forward.
“Thank you very much!” he exclaimed when an official from The Lott confirmed his newfound fortune.
“I’ve won division one before, but it was shared other people in a syndicate. We won $40,000 each, but $3.3 million is next level.
“I haven’t told anyone about this win. I plan on keeping it on the downlow.
“It’s very exciting. I don’t own a house, but now I’ll be able to buy one!
“I’ll have to find a way to celebrate the win.”
The winning entry was purchased at Chippindalls Newsagency, 116 Bourbong Street, Bundaberg.
Chippindalls Newsagency owner Peter Heaps said it was super exciting to have sold a division one winning entry worth $3.3 million.
“It was great news to hear that we had sold a division one prize in Saturday Gold Lotto. It’s really exciting news, and we’re all feeling on cloud nine,” he said.
“We’ve been telling as many of our customers as we can that we’ve sold a division one winning entry. I think our customers will want to know that we sold a division one winning entry and I’m sure it will make them happy.
“To be honest, it has been a while since we sold a division one winning ticket. We’ve sold two or three in the last 20 years, so we’re really pleased to add another to the tally.
“Congratulations to the winner. Enjoy it all!”
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4547 on 15 February 2025 were 18, 41, 8, 19, 31 and 43, while the supplementary numbers were 9 and 11.
Across Australia, there were six division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4547 – two each in Victoria and South Australia, and one each in Queensland and New South Wales.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 311 so far in FY25, including 80 won by Golden Casket customers.
In FY24, Saturday Gold Lotto created 158 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 292 division one winning Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia that collectively won more than $436 million.
