A Burleigh Heads couple can’t wait to finally visit family and friends overseas after scoring a $25,000 top prize on their Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The duo’s $2 Our Backyard Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased from Nextra Burleigh Town News, Stockland Burleigh Heads, 149 West Burleigh Road, Burleigh Heads.
“This is a dream come true. It’s just fantastic,” the winning man confessed when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“We won $10 on a ticket so bought five $2 Instant Scratch-Its. But we didn’t get around to playing them until breakfast the following day.
“My wife actually scratched the winning ticket.
“She’s quite the character and has a habit of pulling my leg. But I could see she was quite serious.
“When I looked, I said, ‘Goodness gracious me! We have won!’.
“We’ve got all sorts of plans going through our minds at the moment.
“But we’re not going to do anything hasty.
“We’re thinking we might go overseas to see family and friends. We’ve been wanting to do that for a while and now we can.”
