A Burraneer man picked up more than just a few groceries this morning, after he checked his ticket and discovered he won division one in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

The New South Wales player held one of the ten division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3989, drawn Saturday 12 October 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $382,311.53.

In addition to winning division one, the man’s System 9 marked entry also scored division three 18 times and division four 45 times, boosting his total win to $400,321.88.

Speaking with a NSW Lotteries official this morning shortly after checking his ticket in the supermarket, the man admitted the win had caught him completely off guard.

“Oh my god,” he laughed.

“That is unbelievable! I had absolutely no idea.

“Wow, four-hundred thousand dollars?

"I just checked my ticket while picking up some groceries, and they told me to call you.

“It is incredible! It’s just awesome!

“God, I think I am going to have to have a few drinks tonight with my wife to celebrate.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the happy man said he would be spending the night dreaming of what to do with it.

“I don’t really know what I am going to do with it. I need to sit down with my wife and have a big think,” he shared.

“We will do the usual stuff with it though, pay off the bills and then we will have fun with the rest.

“My wife is madly in love with Italy and France so we will definitely be going on a big Europe trip.

“Who knows what’s on the cards. It’s going to be fun planning what to do with it, that’s for sure!”

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his System 9 marked entry at Lucky 7 Burraneer Supermarket, 139 Woolooware Road, Burraneer.

Lucky 7 Burraneer Supermarket owner Charlie Xu said he was celebrating selling a division one winning entry.

“The winner just checked his ticket in store here! It was amazing,” he said.

“He was so happy, and we were too. We still are ecstatic for him.

“We have lots of lucky charms in store in the hopes of bringing luck to our customers.

“It seems they helped deliver a win to our customer! Now we are feeling even more lucky.

“Hopefully we make more of our customers happy winners soon.”
