Having spent years dreaming of buying his own home, a Burrill Lake man is ready to start house hunting after scratching a top prize of $1,000 a week for 10 years, totalling $520,000 in prize money.

The life-changing $10 Live the Life Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Burrill Lake Newsagency, 117 Princes Highway, Burrill Lake.

Sharing his excitement with an official from The Lott this morning, the New South Wales man explained he doesn’t often buy himself tickets.

“Thank you,” he laughed.

“It was very exciting!

“I don’t buy scratchies very often but it was a really rainy day here and I thought I would grab a couple.

“So I went to the newsagency and got myself a handful of tickets and then went home and scratched them.

“I didn’t believe it to be honest. I kept checking the ticket over and over again.

“Right up until this morning, I didn’t think it was real!

“I am stoked!”

With his prize about to start hitting his bank account, the thrilled man explained it will help him get ahead.

“I’ve been trying to buy a house so this will be a big help,” he said.

“It will really set me up!”

In FY21, there were 176 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $14.17 million in top prizes.

During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 31.2 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $274.31 million. This equates to more than $750,000 won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
