A Cairns woman has revealed her days in the office are now numbered after taking home division one in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Far North Queensland resident held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4045 on Saturday 25 April 2020. Each division one winning entry takes home a prize of $1,982,910.00.
Confirming her unbelievable news with an official from the Lott this morning, the woman explained how the win meant she spent Sunday in a daze.
“Oh my god. Wow. Thank you so much!” she exclaimed.
“My mind is still absolutely blown.
“It’s amazing. I really can’t believe it.
“I fell asleep on the couch on Saturday night and woke up around midnight. I checked the Lott app and saw that I had won division one and because I was half asleep, I truly thought I was seeing things.
“I thought the app was playing tricks on me. You just don’t expect it to happen! I’m so excited.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her division one windfall, the overwhelmed woman said retirement would kick off a lot earlier than she’d expected.
“Once all this craziness calms down, we’re going to go travelling around Australia,” she said.
“We’re going to retire a lot earlier than we thought and just start living our dream retirement.
“It will be incredible. I can’t wait to just have a big break from everything!
“And of course we will be helping our family out as well.
“I know we will do plenty of good things with the money and really enjoy it as well!”
The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning 36-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
