A Cairns mum is looking forward to cruising around Far North Queensland in a brand new car after pocketing a $25,000 Instant Scratch-Its prize.
The top prize winning $2 Fruit Loot Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Nextra Earlville News, Shop 44, Stockland Shopping Centre, 537 Mulgrave Road, Earlville.
Sharing her joy with an official from The Lott this morning, the Far North Queenslander said she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her when she scratched the winning ticket.
“I was shopping for a card for my daughter and I picked up a few scratchies for myself,” she explained.
“I tucked them away in my handbag and later that night I remembered to scratch them.
“I wasn’t if I was looking at the ticket correctly. I couldn’t believe it!
“I had to get my husband to double check.
“I was in shock. It was so exciting!”
With $25,000 about to hit her bank account, the thrilled winner shared it was time to treat herself.
“I am going to buy a car!” she declared.
“It’s perfect timing. I’ve been wanting a new car for a long time.”
Nextra Earlville News manager Joel Philip said he loved seeing major prizes land in the region.
“This is exciting for both us and our customers,” he said.
“Cairns has had plenty of big wins this year and we love seeing these prizes go to our regular and local customers.
“We all take a lot of joy in selling winning tickets. Congratulations to our latest winner.
“We can’t wait to do it all again!”
