A Calamvale shopper has sprung into spring with a lush $2 million boost after scoring a division one prize in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Brisbane resident held one of the 10 division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4291 on Saturday 3 September 2022. Each division one winning entry took home $2 million.
However, how the winner plans to spend their windfall will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to stay completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The winning 24-game QuickPick was purchased at Nottingham Road News, Shop 8 Calamvale Marketplace, 2605 Beaudesert Road, Calamvale.
Nottingham Road News manager Ben Lee said the team was lost for words when they discovered they had sold a division one winning entry in Saturday Gold Lotto.
“We were all very shocked when we first heard the winning news. We’ll be celebrating with a bottle of champagne and a lot of balloons to share that winning feeling around!” he said.
“I’ve been working at Nottingham Road News for seven years alongside owner Cindy, and we always talk about selling a life-changing division one ticket in every draw.
“We’ve never sold a division one winning entry before and last Saturday night, our dream finally came true. This is beyond exciting for our local community, and it will be the talk of the town!
“Hopefully, this will be the start of our winning streak and we can’t wait to make other customers' dreams come true. The last few years have been tough times, so we’re over the moon!
“We’d love to wish the winner a big congratulations and wish them all the very best for this life-changing news. The dreaming starts now!”
The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said she was sure the winner was busy arranging exciting plans for years to come.
“While we may never know how the winner plans to enjoy their prize, we have no doubt they’re walking around today grinning from ear to ear after discovering their newfound fortune,” she said.
“Other winners tell us they use their division one win to help their nearest and dearest, upgrade their homes and cars, or even indulge on a holiday.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4291 on 3 September 2022 were 10, 18, 39, 3, 21 and 6, while the supplementary numbers were 41 and 43.
Across Australia, there were 10 division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4291 – five from Queensland, three from Victoria and one each from Tasmania and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 300 so far this calendar year, including 69 won by Golden Casket customers.
