Three weeks after the winning numbers were drawn, a Callala Bay man has finally checked his ticket and discovered he’d scored a $100,000 Lucky Lotteries prize at the start of the month.
The Shoalhaven resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10953, drawn Tuesday 1 April 2025.
“I’m feeling nervous,” the winning man confessed before an official from The Lott revealed his prize.
“That’s unreal!
“I’m a bit blown away, to be honest.
“I feel like this is the time when balloons and streamers should come falling from the sky.
“There’s a bit of a story as to why I bought the ticket. Recently, my phone broke, and my friend decided to gift me one of his old ones. I tried to give him money for it, but he wouldn’t accept anything.
“So, I decided I’d buy us a couple of lottery tickets as a thank you.
“He has no idea we’ve won anything. He’s going to be over the moon.
“It only occurred to me today that I should check the tickets. I’d almost forgotten I’d bought them in the first place.
“I’m too excited to think straight right now.”
His winning entry was purchased at Callala Bay IGA Supermarket, Shop 5, 55 Emmett Street, Callala Bay.
Callala Bay IGA Supermarket store manager Sally White shared she was excited her winning customer had been united with their prize.
“We were all so excited and shocked when we first heard we’d sold a major prize-winning ticket,” she said.
“The last time we sold a major prize-winning ticket was in 2018, so we’re thrilled to hear we’ve done it again after some time.
“We’d like to send our winner a big congratulations from all of us here at the IGA! We sure hope you enjoy your $100,000 win!”
