A Campbelltown man has finally realised his good fortune more than a month after winning $200,000 in a Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The New South Wales player won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1211, drawn Friday 1 February 2019.
In addition to winning the 1st Prize, the Sydney resident’s entry also won a consolation prize of $2,000, delivering him a total win of $202,000.
Confirming his prize with a NSW Lotteries official this afternoon, the man recalled how he discovered his win almost six weeks after the draw.
“I realised I’d won yesterday afternoon when I decided to check my ticket online,” he shared.
“I saw I’d won $202,000 but my first reaction was that someone was pulling my leg.
“I couldn’t believe it! So it’s great to know this is not a joke!”
The regular Lucky Lotteries player revealed he’d been playing lottery games for half a century and never checked his tickets straight after the draw.
“I always take my time checking my tickets,” he laughed.
“They’re always in my wallet so I know where they are, I just don’t always get around to checking them.
“I’ve never won this much and I never thought I would!
“I’ve probably been playing for 50 years.
“I’ll keep working. I don’t want to retire. I enjoy going to work every day.
“My children will certainly benefit from this, I’ll share it with them!”
The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 10 consecutive number entry at Marketfair Newsagency, Shop 25A, Campbelltown Marketfair, 4 Tindall Street, Campbelltown.
Marketfair Newsagency employee Van Nguyen said she was relieved to know her customer had finally checked his ticket.
“This is great news! We’ve been wondering when this person would check their winning ticket,” she said.
“So many of our customers keep asking me if the prize has been claimed and I’d been beginning to worry that the precious ticket had been lost.
“We’re so excited for our customer and we wish them all the best!”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $47.8 million for draw 1246 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $4.01 million for draw 10277.
