A Campbelltown woman has revealed she can’t wait to ‘cheers’ her way into the week and celebrate with friends after discovering she had bagged $200,000 in the recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.

The New South Wales resident scored the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1659, drawn Tuesday 9 April 2024.

The happy woman was completely oblivious to her newfound fortune when officials from The Lott called to reveal the life-enhancing news.

“You're joking!?” she exclaimed.

“I can’t believe it. Thank you very much!

“The most I’ve won is about $5. I never thought I’d win this!

“How wonderful!

“I play each week with hope but to really win is just something else.”

While the regular player hadn't decided exactly how she would use her prize, one thing was certain - celebration was in order.

“I’ll be calling my friends right after this!” she said.

“We can pop some champagne and toast to this incredible news!”

Her entry of one random number was purchased at newsXpress Campbelltown, Shop L35b, Macarthur Square, 200 Gilchrist Drive, Campbelltown.

newsXpress Campbelltown owner Akshat Shah said he and the team were ecstatic to have sold a 1st Prize-winning ticket and had also started celebrating.

“We’re very excited! We’ve already been sharing the good news with customers and decorating the store,” he said.

“The last time we sold a major prize was last year, which was also in a Lucky Lotteries draw! We hope the wins continue!

“Congratulations to the winning woman and thank you to all our amazing customers for their support!”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $16.12 million for draw 1660, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $760,000 for draw 10846.

In 2023, 117 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $20.6 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In 2023, more than 122.7 million wins took home more than $3.76 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto, Monday & Wednesday Lotto, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno (SA), Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.6 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
