A Canberra man has admitted he is still in shock after discovering he is now $200,000 richer from winning the 1st Prize in a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The Bush Capital resident won the guaranteed 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1158, drawn on Friday 16 November 2018.
Speaking to an NSW Lotteries official to confirm his prize today, the happy winner recounted how he discovered the news.
“It was quite a shock!” he declared.
“I checked my ticket online and it said I had won but it didn’t show how much.
“I didn’t believe it! So I logged into my app and looked at the draw and it was showing $200,000.
“I was a bit shocked! I could see it in front of me but I just needed to hear it officially!”
When asked how he planned to spend his Lucky Lotteries windfall, the happy winner revealed it had come at the perfect time.
“I’ve been trying to find a new home to buy and I haven’t been looking forward to doing that,” he revealed.
“But this will go completely into buying a house. It means I can afford a better and bigger one with a couple of extra bedrooms.
“You hear about people winning at a time when they can use the money perfectly and today I am one of those people.
“This has come at a really, really good time and it’s going to set me up to start my life!”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his entry of five random numbers online at thelott.com - Australia’s official lotteries.
