A Sunshine Beach couple are looking forward to boosting their retirement with a brand-new boat and plenty of fishing after discovering they hooked more than $3.75 million in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The coastal Queenslanders held one of the eight division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4481, drawn Saturday 29 June 2024. Each entry took home $3.75 million.
The delighted duo was still reeling from the excitement when an official from The Lott called to confirm their multi-million dollar treasure.
“Magic!” the winning husband cheered.
“Thank you very much. It’s pretty unbelievable.
“I checked the other night and at first, I thought I had won $3,760, then I read it again and it hit me!
“I went and showed my wife and said, ‘Can you have a look?! Am I reading this right?!’.
“I sure was. I even got her to look up the results on her phone to double-check.
“We stayed up all night, talking and talking. It’s very surreal still.
“I ended up staying awake until 2.30am and my wife stayed up until 4am!
“We’ve recently retired, so it’ll certainly change our plans up quite a bit.
“I think we’ll be doing a lot of fishing, camping and kicking back.
“I wouldn’t mind getting a boat!”
The winning marked System 9 entry was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4481 on Saturday 29 June 2024 were 30, 24, 44, 21, 45 and 10, while the supplementary numbers were 31 and 28.
Across Australia, there were eight division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4481 – four in Queensland, two in Tasmania and one each in New South Wales and South Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 212 so far in 2024, including 53 won by Golden Casket customers.
