An emotional Caulfield North man has burst into tears of shock and joy upon discovering his TattsLotto entry had yielded him a division one prize worth over $549,000.

The Melbourne man held one of the 11 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4105, drawn Saturday 21 November 2020. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $549,405.38.

When an official from The Lott spoke to the winner this morning, he immediately began sobbing as he processed the life-changing news.

“Can you repeat that please? Five hundred thousand?” he questioned through tears.

“This is the best news I’ve ever had. Thank you very much. You’ve made my day.

“When I checked my ticket, they said it was too big to pay out, so I thought I might have won something big, but I never thought it would be this much.

“I’ve never dreamt I’d ever have this much money. It will really help my family and me a lot.

“I’ve been playing the same numbers for years. They are special numbers for my family and me.

“My mother played them for years before me, so I play them as her legacy.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his half-of-a-million-dollar prize, he revealed it finally allowed him to put his feet up and retire.

“I’m still working two days a week as well as looking after my family, so this will help me to be able to retire finally,” he explained.

“I’ll probably use it towards buying a small place of my own, but I want to make sure I invest it wisely so it helps me in the future too.”

The happy man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his marked 6-game entry at Mr Pickwicks Newsagency, 348 Glenhuntly Road, Elsternwick.

Mr Pickwicks Newsagency owner Louise Browne said it was exciting to discover her outlet had sold a division one winning entry.

“We’re delighted by the news, and we are all quite buoyed by it!” she exclaimed.

“This is the third division one winning entry we’ve sold in about five years with the last about 18 months ago.

“We’ve decorated the store with balloons and we are encouraging our customers to get involved in the celebrations with a special in-store promotion.

“This is what buying a ticket is all about! I’m so thrilled to be part of the excitement and look forward to selling our next division one winning entry!

“Congratulations and well done to our winner! We are delighted for you, and we hope you enjoy your celebrations!”
