Central Queensland is emerging as an Instant Scratch-Its hotspot, with the region celebrating its second top prize win of the week.
A mystery Rockhampton player is heading into the weekend $100,000 richer after scratching one of the top prizes on a $5 Crosswords.
The winning ticket was purchased at Allenstown News, Shop 1, Allenstown Plaza, Canning Street, Allenstown.
It comes just days after a young Gladstone tradie pocketed $25,000 on the first Instant Scratch-Its ticket he’d ever bought.
Allenstown News owner Jarrod Black said he was sure the winner would have a cracking Christmas.
“What a great time of the year to win!” he said.
“We’re really excited to see this prize go to one of our customers. It’s created such a buzz in store.
“Congratulations to them! We hope they really enjoy their prize.”
Instant Scratch-Its spokesperson Lauren Cooney said she was sure Queensland’s latest winner would enjoy every moment of their windfall.
“We’re certainly seeing a winning streak emerge in Central Queensland,” she said.
“Just like our Gladstone winner, we have no doubt this Rockhampton player will love planning what to do with their win.
“Other winners have told us they use their windfall to upgrade their car, do renovations on their home, or go on a shopping spree.
“No matter how they enjoy their prize we are sure it will give them a boost!”
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 151 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $11.8 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 29.1 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $235.25 million. This equates to more than half a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
