A Lawnton resident or visitor scored a sweet million-dollar treat in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw but may be unaware of the fact they’re a newly-minted millionaire.
The elusive Moreton Bay player held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4349, drawn Wednesday 20 December 2023 and took home $1 million.
The winning entry was not registered to a player card, which means officials from The Lott have no way of notifying the winner of their life-changing win and must wait for them to check their ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased at Spar Lawnton, 5A, 718 Gympie Road, Lawnton.
Spar Lawnton owners Kashyap and Chetna Patel said they were shocked to discover they’d sold a division one winning entry one month after becoming the new owners of the outlet.
“We found out the winning news earlier this morning and we were so excited. It’s such wonderful news especially this time of the year,” Kashyap said.
“This is our first division one winning entry since taking over ownership a month ago, so it’s a very special occasion.
“We will be celebrating this momentous moment in our outlet with balloons and streamers, as well as encouraging customers to check their Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto tickets.
“It will be a wonderful moment when the mystery ticketholder checks their ticket and finds out they’ve won $1 million right before Christmas.

The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said she was eagerly waiting to speak to the Moreton Bay region’s latest division one winner.
“It’s very likely this division one winner is oblivious to the fact they became a millionaire in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw,” she said.
“We’re urging anyone who purchased a Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto entry at Spar Lawnton to check their tickets as soon as possible.
