A Panania resident or visitor has won a phenomenal $8 million in last night’s Powerball draw but they might be unaware of the fact they’re a newly minted multi-millionaire.
The elusive ticketholder held the only division one winning entry in Powerball draw 1374, drawn Thursday 15 September 2022.
The winning entry was not registered to a player card, which means officials from The Lott have no way of notifying the ticketholder of their win and have to wait for them to check their ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased at Panania Stationers & Papershop, 74 Anderson Avenue, Panania.
Panania Stationers & Papershop owner Kush Pindoria said he was shocked his outlet sold a division one winning entry in Powerball.
“I couldn’t believe it when I first read that we sold a division one winning entry in Powerball – I had to read it twice to believe it’s true,” he shared.
“Our community will be excited to hear that someone in the neighbourhood has won.
“We’ve sold quite a few major lottery prizes over the last 10 years, and we’re so glad to add this one to our winning list.
“We’re equally excited as the mystery winner, and it really means a lot to have sold a division one winning entry in our store. Congratulations to the winner and we hope you discover your win soon!”
The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said she hoped the region’s newest multi-millionaire would check their ticket and come forward soon.
“It’s very likely this winner is oblivious to the fact they’ve become a multi-millionaire,” she said.
“We’re urging anyone who purchased a Powerball entry at Panania Stationers & Papershop to check their tickets today!
“The feeling you’ll get after checking that ticket, which may be sitting in your wallet or at the bottom of your bag, and realising you’re $8 million better off will be incredible.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1374 on Thursday 15 September 2022 were 22, 31, 35, 13, 9, 2 and 10. The all-important Powerball number was 15.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Powerball draw 1374 – one in New South Wales.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 308 so far this calendar year, including 85 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In FY22, 16 Powerball division one winning entries across Australia pocketed more than $681.7 million in prize money.
During this time, Powerball offered a $120 million jackpot – the biggest prize offered by any Australian lottery game during the financial year – that was won by two division one winning entries.
Of the 16 Powerball division one winning entries in FY22, seven landed in New South Wales, four in Victoria, three in Queensland and two in Western Australia.
