A Dubbo resident or visitor is stepping into the weekend with 100,000 more reasons to smile after they scored $100,000 in today’s Lucky Lotteries draw – though they may not know it yet.

The Orana Region resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10980, drawn Friday 16 May 2025. They can look forward to a total prize of $100,000.

If the mystery winner had registered their entry to The Lott Members Club, they would have already been alerted to their good fortune. Instead, lottery officials are eagerly waiting for the ticketholder to come forward to claim their prize.

The winning entry was purchased at Newsextra on Macquarie, 117 Macquarie Street, Dubbo.

Newsextra on Macquarie manger Leanne Ferguson said she was excited to hear a local player had won $100,000 from a ticket purchased at her outlet.

“I’m a little bit dumbfounded but so excited to hear we’ve had a major lottery win!” she said.

“Our last major lottery win was back in 2019, so it feels like it’s about time our community had another one.

“We will certainly be celebrating the news in-store this week with lots of balloons and signs.

“We hope our mystery winners checks their ticket and comes forward soon to enjoy the prize.”

The Lott spokesperson Eliza Wregg said she hoped the region’s latest major lottery prize winner checked their winning ticket soon.

“Someone is most likely walking around completely oblivious to the fact they won the 1st Prize in a recent Lucky Lotteries draw,” she said.

“We’re urging anyone who purchased a Lucky Lotteries ticket from Newsextra on Macquarie to check their tickets as soon as possible because they could be the mystery winner we’re searching for!

“Can you imagine how exciting it would be to discover you’ve taken home $100,000? Your plans for the rest of 2025 and beyond could change in a heartbeat.

“Make sure you check your tickets, and if you do discover that you are holding the winning ticket, contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $6.04 million for draw 1703, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $18.18 million for draw 10980.

In 2024, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $52.2 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In 2024, more than 195.3 million winners took home more than $4.84 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto, Weekday Windfall, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno (SA), Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.
