A Melbourne lottery player could be spending their weekend planning how they will play by their own rules and enjoy their $20 million Powerball win if only they would check their ticket and discover their life-changing news.

The Victorian player holds the only division one winning entry nationally in Powerball draw 1280, drawn Thursday 26 November 2020 and takes home the entire division one prize of $20 million.

The ticket is unregistered, so officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the winner to break the mind-blowing news and have to wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.

The winning entry was sold at Doveton News and Lotto, 7 Autumn Place, Doveton.

Doveton News and Lotto owner Prince Narula said he was excited to discover his outlet had sold such a whopping prize.

“Wow! It is very exciting! We’ve been telling customers about the win all morning!” he exclaimed.

“We hope every person who checks their ticket is our winner, but so far no one has discovered the good news.

“We hope they check their ticket soon and realise they are a multi-millionaire!”

The Lott spokesperson Lauren Cooney said she was eager to unite Victoria’s newest multi-millionaire with their prize.

“It’s likely this winner is going about their day as normal, thinking of all the errands and jobs they’ll have to do this weekend before heading to work on Monday, with no idea they could put their feet up and relax indefinitely,” she said.

“There are 20 million reasons why all players who purchased a Powerball entry from Doveton News and Lotto should check their tickets today.

“If you discover you are holding the winning ticket please contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize!

“2020 is a year we’ll never forget but for one Victorian it will be for a completely different reason!”

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1280 on Thursday 26 November 2020 were 30, 20, 7, 3, 25, 21 and 31. The all-important Powerball number was 2.

Across Australia, there was one division one entry in Powerball draw 1280 – one from Victoria.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 173 so far this financial year, including 71 won by Tatts customers.

Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, 14 Powerball division one winners across Australia pocketed more than $526.29 million in prize money.

During this time, Powerball offered a $150 million jackpot, the largest prize ever offered by an Australian lottery game, which was shared by three division one winners.

Of the 14 Powerball division one winning entries in FY20, seven landed in Queensland, four in New South Wales, two in Victoria and one in South Australia.
